Serving Minority Students
One of the four major goals of HELP during the 2000-2005 period was to demonstrate comprehensive and integrated health programs that focus on minorities and underrepresented populations.
Three campus demonstration sites for the HELP Ecology Model had large enrollments of either African American or Hispanic students, or both. These campuses are the California State University, San Bernardino; Northeastern Illinois University; and Prince George's Community College. Each of these campuses took a different approach in involving students from these groups and two campuses made presentations about their work at the 2005 NASPA National Conference.
