STUDENT INVOLVEMENT

Healthy Campus Internships

During the 2001-2002 academic year, four HELP Affiliate schools participated in the HELP Healthy Campus Internship Project. Each campus selected an intern to serve as a student leader for health on campus. The interns worked with the campus health center to make connections with other areas of the student affairs division in an effort to promote awareness about HIV prevention. The internships were completed over one academic year, with a minimum of four hours per week. HELP provided a small stipend of $1,000 to each campus to help offset the cost of new material development, campus activities, speaker fees, or an intern stipend. The four campuses that participated in this healthy campus internship program were:

  • University of Missouri-St. Louis
  • Bowling Green State University
  • Florida International University
  • Motlow State Community College
